About Sparrow Technology
Sparrow Technology started about 8 years ago when Lisa was on the board of directors for a Crisis Pregnancy Center. Our whole family would go to the board meetings during which Steve would maintain the computers at the Center. The Director of the Center asked Steve to checkout their Web and upon doing so, Steve came to discover that the Center neglected to pay their hosting bill on time and their high-traffic domain was lost and purchased by a pornography site. This was a severe blow in that the Center had done a lot to promote the domain ensuring it was on pens, bookmarks and all Center's stationery. Anyone who innocently visited this domain was subject to pornography. It was then that Steve started tooling around with Web building and Web hosting to benefit the Center.
Steve setting up Sparrow Technology and offering Web hosting affords us confidence to know that none of our domains would ever fall subject to being lost due to late payment. As a rule we will only build and maintain Webs that we host. If one of our clients pay their annual hosting fee late, their domain is completely safe.
Once we moved to New Hartford we became affiliated with a Crisis Pregnancy Center in Unionville, CT which was much closer to home. This was when Lisa started Web building as she built a Web for the CPC in Unionville, and then her homeschool support group, and then our church and so on and so on. It hasn't stopped since!
We don't generally charge for Lisa's Web building or maintaining for Christian non-profits. It's a ministry. All we ask is for those we bless to pay for their hosting through Sparrow Technology which is affordable enough and comes with many options.
